Cat.No. PMCO 1202 – This is The Beatles first Australian LP record and is a quite rare first pressing, limited to a small number of copies in this mono version and released on a gold on black Parlophone label in Australia, in October 1963. This is a limited edition Australian pressing, not a UK one, which is seen for sale mostly. To confirm it is a true first pressing, Side 1 matrix has ‘XEX 421-IN’ stamped in the vinyl on the run-out groove and Side 2 has ‘XEX 422-IN’ stamped (see photos). This is in very good condition for a 60 y.o. record. The vinyl is graded as very good ++ and still has a good sheen. There are a few marks, light skuffs, hairlines, but nothing serious. It plays through perfectly with no sticking or skips, but has some ‘clicks’ between a few tracks. You can inspect it in our warehouse in Coolamon, NSW.
It has 14 classic and memorable songs – see listing below. Side 1 – I Saw Her Standing There, Misery, Anna, Chains, Boys, Ask Me Why, Please Please Me Side 2 – Love Me Do, P.S. I Love You, Baby It’s You, Do You Want To Know A Secret, A Taste Of Honey, There’s A Place, Twist and Shout, etc
